You can't always determine visually if everything is sealing right on the compression stroke. The head and valves can be pressure tested to see if they are at fault. i have timed the bike using a test light and the marks on the generator. Should i use an inductive timing light to time the bike before syncing the carbs? is there a good write up . 110 PSI is low compression for a CB360. From a mechanical perspective, you will need to know how to properly remove the spark plugs on the vehicle or equipment you are testing and properly disable . The cold test doesn't give you enough information to make that determination. What you need to do, as Joe says, is a warm compression test, followed by a leak-down test. That will give you much more info to work with. A leak-down test may reveal many things, bad guides, rings, weak cylinders etc. FR BTW, don't EVEN ask me how I know.
Honda produced the CB360 for the model years 1974 and 1975 with little or no change. An air-cooled, OHC, twin-cylinder 357-cc engine with two valves per cylinder powered the CB360. The engine's compression ratio was 9.3-to-1. It generated 34 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and had a reported top speed of 102.5 mph.
Did a cold first compression test today. same as another poster here I only got about 50 psi on each cylinder. being a new build with 1mm over size, new rings etc and not run in I was a bit disappointed. squirted a very small amount of light machine oil ( Singer sewing machine oil ) in each cylinder and kicked again.

I'll have to track down a compression test kit at some point, the oil covered spark plugs suggest poor compression as well. Yea it hit 13v, probably would have gone higher if I continued to rev up the engine. By professionally calibrated, I'm referring to the mechanic that works mostly on ATV's and dirtbikes (2nd Chance Cycles, walkertown, nc).
Then to check, take the next WHOLE size up and try to stick it under. It might just barely go in a 1/16" because both surfaces are round. IF it goes on through its too loose, so for the intake its .002 so the test is .003 the exhaust is .003 so the test is .004. It's a feeling you will figure out it just takes practice.Keep in mind, those are hot compression numbers. (The tests should always be done hot, wide open throttle, no choke plates, if CV carb lift the slide.) A cold test will show lower than a hot test so if you can't run the motor it might not be the end of the world compression wise. I have the rev the engine above 3000 rpm for the right side to kick in and get hot. . Just checked compression: 150 on the right side (the one that does not get hot under idle) 100 on the left side Still no clue on what it could be. . will test tomorrow. I hope this helps or might .

I did a compression test today so I'll know before opening the engine. I'll deck cyl and head that will crank up the compression a little. Interesting to see how much more pressure it will make. - Acceptable difference of pressure between cylinders? cold engine, last started about 3 .
After checking the points, compression, valves, carb (twice), electrical, it was the carb. I didn't checking the first time I pulled the carb but the two were WAY out of sync. So much so that idling at 2000 the left side butterfly wasn't even open while the right was open enough to get the bike the idle at 2000.

Compression test is a "dry" cylinder, Throttles open wide. The oil would raise the compression for 2 reasons. 1.
